Default Another tire experiment - Sigma Triangle TR643

Here's another tire into the fray. I swapped out my 4 1/2 year old Marathons (225/75 R15) for the Triangle. These are manufactured by TBC a former owner of Big O, Tire Kingdom, NTB, Merchants, and Carrol tire companies. They are now all owned by Sumitomo. This of course means all the tires are Asian manufactured.

These guys also produce the Power King Towmax line which coincidently looks identical to the Triangle.

Towmax URL: http://www.tbcprivatebrands.com/sigm...ine.asp?id=109

The same tire is branded under the Multi mile, Cordovan, and Vanderbilt lines also as a Triangle and Power King Towmax.

Also I installed this TPMS http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/orange/tpms.jsp because of the price, as well as pressure and temperature monitoring capability.

It would be nice if we could get a sticky for the Great Tire Experiment, but I'm afraid we we digress too far off topic than just the tire in question.

4-1/2 year old Marathons, wow! My last blowout lasted all of 18 months, 6700 miles, always made sure tire pressure was at 50 PSI and my TM is garaged. I'm curious to know if you balance your tires and what else you do to get that kind of life out of them, and what kind of mileage you got on the old tires.

Balanced, kept outside, never covered, maybe 5000 miles, and always kept pressure at 65psi (15 inch d rated).

Default 15" tires versus 14" tires.

Grill, I see that your 2720 is old enough to add the "bolt on" lift kit with no welding. Can your garage handle the lift kit+15" wheel upgrade, a total of about 3-1/2"?

If so, I think you should give it a try. You can see from my sig what I did
There's also some Euro-sized 14" load range "D" tires in use, if your garage door doesn't allow for the extra height.
