Default New Owner of 2001 2518 TM

It was time to move up from a Fleedwood tent trailer to a TM. I use a FJ Cruiser for towing so I am limited to size. It will tow up to 5k lbs but it has a short wheelbase. After looking at dealer stock I found a super clean 2518 and the 15 year old tires looked like they never hit the pavement. We drove 450 miles to Modesto, went right to a tire store and hit the road back to Long Beach. Of course we had to camp! So we headed over to Hollister to Hwy 25 and camped. The only issue I see is the hing which slides out for the front bathroom wall needs repair, and the radio goes in and out (suspect loose cable to speakers because it does it with cds, radio, mp3). It sure pulls easy, tracks great with no sway. I am adding trailer brakes to the FJ. It sure beats a tent trailer and is so easy to put up and down. The crank for the scissor jacks has a hook at the end. I would like to use my power drill. Any one seen a device for the drill with a hook ?

Glad you are enjoying it. The bathroom hinge should be an easy replacement. For the crank, no need for an expensive adapter. Just chuck the long end of a simple Allen wrench into your drill, 1/4" size or so.

Welcome to the forum. FYI if you don't have an Allen wrench, a foundation bolt is a cheaper alternative.

Enjoy your TM

Welcome to the board, and congrats on your "new" 2518!

We have a 1997 2720 and it is still serving us well since 2003.
