Noisy clock

When I first brought our new, used 1995 3023 home a few weeks ago, my son wanted to sleep in it overnight in the driveway right away. So he did. He slept in the front slide out sofabed. The next morning he told me about how really loud the Stratus quartz clock is. He was right. Clunk, clunk, clunk... What a racket!

I don't know if you all have this same loud clock, but if you do, and find the clock annoying, here's a solution. www.clockit.com sells all kinds of parts for clocks. I ordered a continuous sweep thin movement and transplanted it into the clock. It works fine, and is totally silent. The only modification was to add a commmon flat washer on the clock shaft as a spacer. Total cost $19.25 including shipping. Total time for the operation 30 min. Tools required Phillips screwdriver.

I replaced our clock right away with a square silver LED atomic clock (about 11 in x 11 in) with temp guage and date that I purchased at Target. Looks very high tech and it makes no sound at all. Nice to watch the temp guage as the TM cools down on a hot day.

I got a similar LCD clock from target, unfortunately it doesn't have the atomic feature....

I noticed this weekend that the clock had reset itself since I installed it 7-days ago.  

The clock is not rated for anything above 100F or freezing temps, so I suspect it got too hot.  We are winding down from summer, but we are still in the upper 90's.

Anybody else have this problem or do you just pull the batteries at the end of each trip?

So far no heat problems affecting the LCD clock here in AZ, where I keep our TM parked in a hot garage that exceeds 110 deg in the summer. Batteries will stay in the clock, CO detector (added this device), and smoke alarm until end of the camping season. No need to winterize either!

My new clock seems to be the same as this one from 12 years ago. Very loud. Anyone else update it with one that has the same latches to hold it in? If not, what do you recommend?

I thought they went away, the current one does not have, but in the other's I had I never heard that I remember, but dw just informed me that I deaf and they was load,

I also got an LCD atomic clock. Mounted it with Velcro so battery changes are easy.

I also got an LCD atomic clock, with indoor and outdoor temp displays. It also claims to forecast the weather. I got it at WalMart. Woodgrain, so it looks good.

I put the metal tabs on the back of my clock. I had to modify the hole in the cabinet a bit, but it works well, and won't fall off if the Velcro gets too hot, or I go off-road. Trailer is under wraps now, and it is supposed to snow tomorrow, so I won't be posting any pics of the back side of the clock, nor the modified opening.
