The photos make it looke easy.

I have been able to remove the front end cap. I have not been able to remove the rear end cap. I suppose if I go up to some 18 inch channel lock pliers I will be able to remove it, but it will likely be damages so bad that I can not put it back.

I should look at the parts that are available for purchase. Anything that can be replaced would toelrate being broken during removal.
