Default Painting the TM

Anyone consider painting the outside of their TM? I like the look of newer trailers with their dark browns and beiges. Similar to examples here: http://www.campertechniekeersel.nl/u...sa-motorhomes/.

I realize this is a motor home, but I think darker colors would look awesome on the TM.

Feasible?

What would you do with the decals? Doesn't appeal to me

Be careful about painting it darker. 1) the darker units get much warmer inside when in the sun. 2) the outside shell gets much hotter to the touch, to the point of possible skin damage. 3) the added heat may melt the adhesive holding the skin onto the core. "may" is not really "may", so I would not paint a white trailer a darker color.

I lusted for a SilverTrail, until I heard about the above situations.

But the browns / taupes / beiges look so nice on those higher-end campers. If not dark, what about redoing the krystalkote and re-stickering it?

I agree, the colors look better than white. But, with the walls held together with adhesive, most adhesives melt at a certain point. If an adhesive was chosen for the white walls, and it holds to a certain point, that point can be exceeded by a darker color. Then, delamination.

Whether you paint it, or put decals on, it could absorb much more heat than white paint. Not good, if it gets hot enough to melt the adhesive. If you always camp where cool, no problem. But, most of us will be where it is hot, at some point. Not necessarily intentionally, but we may have to go to Texas or Florida for some reason.
