Default 17 inch tires?

I have not given up on keeping my TM yet, so my mind continues to wonder what I can do to make it better and safer. Going to 17 inch tires would open me up to much stronger tires (I believe). Because I have lifted my trailer up 2.5 inches does that mean I may have the ability to put 17 inch tires in? Can someone guide me through the process of determining if that is possible?

Its all in the diameter but suspect trailer tires that would provide a reasonably soft ride are rare in a 17, and not sure about wheels in a six bolt plattern.

Do you have 15s or 16s now ?

I just looked and 16 inch would make more sense. Any value on doing that type of upgrade?

Only if you really want to. For a trailer like yours a 225x75R15 LRD (2530 lbs at 65 psi) is plenty and the larger the air volume (225x75) the better the ride unless the vehicle is designed for something else.

Now there is a ST235x80x16 if you feel you need them but why ? I'd be as concerned about side clearance (are 9.25" wide and 30.8" tall) as diameter.

Cantilever and super low profiles were designed for racing (as little movement as possible) and not ride. On some roads the 255x35R19s on my Crossie can rattle your teeth out and it is designed for them. Just my opinion.
