Default Stock tires 3124

Looking at a 2003 3124ks. Could someone tell me if the original tires are 15"?
The TM is 300 miles away and plan on looking at it this week. Dealer is asking $7000 but I know he will take $7000 out the door. Counter tops are scratch up, easy fix to re-Formica them. Also we're the 2003 frames aluminum or wood.
Tow vehicle is a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder rated at 6000#

Thank you, great site and information, will become a paying member.

Thanks for the quick reply. After reading all the stories of blowouts I wondered if I needed to get new rims and tires or just need to replace the tires. Tires look good but I have not seen it in person yet to check the date code.
I have a 24' sailboat on a tandem axle trailer that weighs around 4000# plus extras. The Pathfinder tows it with no trouble, The TM should be no problem either.

Thanks again,

Mark

I've got a 2002 and have 15" wheels stock. No lift. I would not trust the tires unless the seller can show you an invoice for replacement tires in the last 24 months or so. I pulled mine the first 300 miles and all was good, then one blew out while it was parked overnight while we were sleeping in it. Thought the trailer was exploding... We bolted out of the unit thinking it was one of the propane tanks or WH tank.

I would not trust any invoice. Look at the tires. The date of manufacture is stamped on them. That is the important date as the clock really starts when the tires are manufactured. Take a small flashlight as many times the dates on on the inside. Trailer tires almost never wear out. They get old and fail catastrophically. You need to do the same for the battery. Both of these can be used for negotiating a lower price. If you do purchase new tires, be sure to check the manufacture date before you have them mounted. Warehouses try to clear out old tires first. Let the dealer you purchase from know you want current dated tires and are going to check.

There is also a lot of good info on this forum about what look for when buying a used TM. Just use the search feature.
Good luck.
