Default 15 " Akuret Tires

Talked to my local tire guy and he recommended Akuret Trailer Tires. Went with ST225 75 R 15 load range E. It is a 10 ply. He also set me up with 2 15 " white spoke rims. Drive out was $300.00. I am upgrading from the 14 ". Will let y'all know how it works out.

No spare. I was hoping a 14 " would get me down the road to buy a new tire if needed. What do you think?

14 would be ok to LIMP to a store. Go slow as you are putting additional weight on the smaller tire (leaning).

I would go very slow and only a short distance. The design of the TM makes it more susceptable to damage from unbalance imho. You can't make the assumption that you can get a replacement 15" tire after a short drive. If you blow a tire on Sunday in a remote location, it amy cost you a few days. Everyone does't stock trailer tires in many sizez.

Just mounted my st225 75 r15 tires. The new height fit in my garage by about 1 inch or less. I have a 2009 2720. Is the slight bend in the center of the axle what the factory puts on the newer trailers in order to raise it or did the previous owner run over a stump? By the way, plenty of clearance on the wheel wells.
