I have a 2003 model. The roof delaminated in the 1st 6 months of ownership. After a great deal of negotiations/conflict with the dealer and factory it was returned to the factory for replacement (along with many other issues). I would tend to believe that this is not an uncommon problem since my door is now delaminating!

No problem
No problem with our 2720SL 2005, but it is housed in the garage all the time except when camping.

Do an advanced search for 'delamination' and user name 'mjlaupp' and you will find some more info.

Thanks...I will do the search...thanks for the responses. I feel so naive...I thought only fiberglass campers could delaminate. duh!

Default Delamination

I've had my 2720SL for over 4.5 years. It has never been garaged or even covered. I've used it a great deal including towing it over 25,000 miles and have lived in it for over 15 months. To this date I've seen no signs of delamination. BTW - I've used it in temperature ranges from the teens to the upper 90s.

We now own our third TM and have never experienced most of the problems mentioned in this thread. We now have a 2004 2720SL, and the one before it was a 1998 2619 and before the 1998 was a 1988 M20 and never had any delamination. Our biggest issue was in the 1988 and we had to get the wood inside the edge of the ceiling replaced when it rotted. They no longer put wood up there so it didn't make us nervous about buying the next one. Once we had a warrantee refrigerator repair and last summer the caulking around our skylight leaked. We noticed that there were many improvements made on the newer units that I believe were first mentioned in this website. I think TM does read it and consider the ideas of this great group. We love our units and have been camping in them every summer. Regards, smookie

I wonder if they could attach a hatch to the outer shell to allow access to the water fill while folded? I haven't looked to see if something like a window is in the way. Actually a window would be perfect because you could just slide it open and have a sliding screen.

I put a fitting on the drain to allow filling.

The seat over the water tank is a bit weak on supports for the cover. Lucky I'm skinny. The panel doesn't line up over the supports.

Overall I like the trailer. I swapped a marine circuit breaker at the batteries and I will probably move the batteries to the back compartment. Maybe us AGM to avoid having to vent them. Then I'll mount my generator up front.

Love the trailer!

Ok, I need to retract my previous statements. Buying a used trailer, it's not always obvious what others have done. They reversed the panels on the dinnette seats. No wonder the supports don't line up. They'd used it that way for a while and the panel was stress cracked.

I need to shut my TM but it looks like the the window lines up with the water fill. Just need a clean access point through the screen. Assuming the inner shell doesn't cover it...
