Default Prodigy connection to a Chevy Tahoe

Does anyone know the trick to hooking up a Prodigy brake controller to my 2006 Chevy Tahoe with Z71 package? It does have the tow package. See picture of the pig tail and the control box. Does the pigtail plug into the upper left corner or does it even matter?

Your picture seems to show a connection / fuse / relay box in the Tahoe, which I think you refer to as the "control box". The pigtail connector is the white connector partially hidden by the piece of paper - it has four wires going into it, right? The Tahoe's pigtail connector is supposed to plug into a matching connector on the Prodigy. If the connectors don't physically match, then the Prodigy should have come with an adapter.

DON'T plug that connector into the big ivory-colored connection block in the photo.

Default fuse that may be left out by GM

Above link refers to a fuse that is sometimes missing in GM vehicles that allows you to push 12V to TM battery and fridge.

Hi Bob,

Did you get it figured out? Based on the link that I sent you and compared to your photo, I would say that the inboard socket is the correct one. If you look at the link I sent, you can just see the outboard connector under the harness. For those interested in the link, it is here: http://www.randpcarriages.com/tech/c...kecontrol.html

Regards.

Default Prodigy connection solved

To answer Bill's reply, the pigtail I am holding in the picture is the one received with the vehicle not the Prodigy. So it does plug into the fuse box (or control box or whatever it is called) shown in the picture.

What I hadn't realized is that it the plug is keyed so that you can only put it in the proper receptacle.

I did forget to unplug it when I cut the wires to connect it to the the Prodigy harness. That blew the 30 amp fuse. Ouch ($3.99). But it does seem to work ok now. I bought the "Tekonsha" trailer simulator. It works fine with that.
