Default Toilet help

The previous owners of our TM have built a little box and placed a casette toilet on it. Im considering installing a basic Dometic 302310083 310 sTandard height rv toilet. Is there any reason this would NOT work? The reviews on these seem pretty positive, they look easy to install, and I can get an absolute steal on one. I would love to not have to manually dump the cassette daily.

Any expertise is appreciated.

Note: We only ever stay in campgrounds with full hookups.

The TM never had black tanks. If the previous owner installed a modification or a black tank, that toilet will not work. There's been ideas floated, but I've never seen anything posted here.

Does it need a black tank if it’s hooked up directly to the sewer? We have a portable black tank that we could use. Sorry, very new to this and this forum is about the only place to get info on Trailmanors.

Thanks!

You can keep the dump hose connected, but you don't want to leave the slide valve open. Sewer gasses will come back up into the bathroom and that will not be nice.

Also, it takes time for solids to turn to mush using a black tank. If you just flush directly through an RV sewer hose some of the nasty will get stuck in the hose.

Last year we replaced the gross recirculating Thetford toilet with the Domenic Ceramic Marine Toilet (model 711M28) - so happy with that decision! It's a small black tank and lasts us about 3 days if we are not connected to sewer (family of 5). When we are connected to sewer it's even better - functions just like a normal toilet.

Hi. We had a Thetford and it was really bad. It smelled all the time. I had a Dometic 711-M28 installed. It is retrofitted with the drain on the bottom instead of the side. It is designed for marine use.
