Ford still has a lot of bugs to work out on their Ecoboost. Just search for Ecoboost intake valve carbon. Ford has a new Ecoboost that has two sets of injectors: one set before the valves to keep them cleaner, and the other set in cylinder. This may have solved the problem, but I'm still waiting and seeing. Also, for some reason, Ford put the water pump inside the engine rather than bolted outside on some Ecoboost engines. (I think it's the FWD models). Imagine the headache when the waterpump dies.
