Angry Mountain Lake campground & Marina--Lake City,TN __Skip it

This campground was dirty beer cans and paper around campsites plenty of locals mostly perminent sites. Wiring poor, campsites far from level and washed out gravel. Other than that it was great!

Well, that's sad to hear, though it seems to echo the ratings on the Internet.

When we were in Lake City, we stayed in a different commercial campground just off the main road and near the TM plant - can't remember the name. It was nothing special, though not nearly as bad as your description of Mountain Lake Marina. On the other hand, Norris Dam State Park was beautiful! Wish we had stayed there!

I stayed at Fox Inn campground near Clinton Tenn. recently. It is ~7 miles south on I-75 from the Trailmanor factory. As in most private campgrounds, the campsites were closer together then what I like, since I mostly camp in National Park & Forest campgrounds, but that is a downside to most any commercial campground. Campers are escorted to the sites, and shown the utlilities. The sites were mostly level with convenient hookups. The showers and bathrooms were clean and neat. There was no trash laying around, and dog owners are "fined" if they don't pick up. Gates are locked at nite to prevent non-camper drive thrus. There was a game room for the kids, and washer and dryers for the adults. The pool was crystal clear with plenty of chairs/lounges. A fairly well stocked camp store with friendly desk clerk (the owner). There were some seasonal campers there, but they were friendly, and overall the place was quiet.....except for the garbage truck at 5:30 in the morning.......hopefully that happens only once a week.

We stayed at Norris Dam, Tennessee state park when we visitied the plant. It was very nice. No electric, but decent bath/shower rooms and very close to the plant. Olga, Northwodds

We liked Norris Dam SP too. Beautiful spot and nice birds.
