Tire Pressure Reading in New Chevy

My current TV will display the air pressure in each of the four tires on the "driving computer" or whatever it's called on the dash. I'm curious what people's thoughts are - is this accurate enough to use for the TV, or do I really still need to get my air gauge out to measure the pressure (yes, I know I still need to measure the TM pressure)?
