Default Thinking of removing a bench and heater for the summer . . .

We're planning on taking our 2720 TM from Michigan to Oregon and back next month. We have some specialized biking gear to haul and want to store it inside the camper (it is awkwardly sized and won't fit easily in the tow vehicle). We're thinking about removing one of the bench seats and the heater for this trip only in order to make it work. Anybody ever done this?

I have not done it, but read the first post here re the door alignment:

From what I can gather, it is important to keep the part of the seat that keeps the door aligned intact. In my regular model 2720, it appears to be the bench seat itself along with an upholstered piece above it that the cushions are retained by.

I'd be curious to see what the factory would say about this.
