Being pretty new to TM's I definitely don't know all the models so check for sure. Scroll to the bottom of this link for dimensions. The side-to-side footprint is 18-7/8" (I measured my tank to be sure), but Sealand has not corrected the front to back measurement. It is actually 17" not 19-1/4".

There are also some models that have a triangular brace at floor level that may interfere with this without removing it first.

Wayne you have done a "GREAT" job of trying to help & share your experience but as with any mod everyone should look at their situation carefully before proceeding.

I personally have decided this project has just went to top of my TM list hopefully before next trip.

Have you finished plumbing yet Im curious how well that goes using existing valves etc.

Anyone know why separation of Gray water from Black Water on newer models now?

I have a 2720SL and I"m ordering the toilet. Looks like I will cut into the wheel well slightly or raise the toilet about an inch or two to clear the well. It's going to fit one way or another. It also looks like the hole may have to move forward maybe an inch and a half. Wish me luck, Robert

***Are you referring to the steel brace outside, underneath the TM? On mine there's 8" between it and the 3" drain. But for sure, I don't know about other models.

This whole project took me two days, excluding removing the old toilet. Running PEX for fresh water and using Sharkbite fittings was the most frustrating part. I have a defective Sharkbite Tee that I've removed and redone three times now, so it's another trip to Home Depot.

I kept sloppy notes to try to put together some sorta "how to and tools used", but it'll be a real long boring thing for most people, so I'm not sure what to do there or where to put it????? Alternatively, I'm usually available by phone for some toilet talk. I can't think of any pictures (other than the ones in a previous post) that would do anybody any good.

Also did you do anything to fill in old unused hole?

Excellent work, Wayne! Glad to hear you are done and the install looks great. Can't wait to hear the results of a wet test, although I certainly wouldn't expect anything but positive news.

Just ordered one this morning for a 2006 2720. I was thinking of raising it as well. We'll see when it gets here. Please keep me posted if you come up with any tricks.

Bob -

I would really advise against cutting into the wheel well liner at all. When you have a blowout, or a tire throws a tread, things gets REALLY BUSY in that area. As you know, TMs were originally built with square wheel wells, and a thrown tread would bunch up in there, break through the liner, and blast into the TM interior causing real havoc. Somewhere around 2000-2001, TM carefully rounded the wheel wells so that a thrown tread couldn't get caught up in there, but instead would be ejected. While that tread may still damage the plumbing beneath the trailer, at least it doesn't bust up the cabinets and interior plumbing. If you break that carefully-crafted curve, you risk having a thrown tread catch on the edge you've created, with all the catastrophic results we used to see in the old days.

Just my thought ...
