I didn't take pictures of the install as they were pretty much the same as others. I place my dump valve lower, in line with the gray water valve so I gained the volume of an extended drop.

I just used a heat gun to soften the wheel liner and pressed a 2X4 on it while it cooled.

However, I did add one mod. to the toilet. I plumbed it to the cold water system. See pics.

Nice!! That, IMHO, is the only acceptable replacement for the Electra-magic (although I remain happy with mine). You retain the capability to connect to sewer hookups, and don't have to become a member of the "poop toter" club.

That does look great GrubbyJ. That is on my wish list too, but still haven't decided completely if the cassette units would meet our needs adequately. Really leaning toward springing the extra $$ and effort for the Sealand though.

Wow. That's a lot of mods. I still like the cassette or the Thetford Curve with the mounting plate. To each their own.

Nice install, while i love my cassette i like your install, just a preference thing! When hook ups are available it takes less than a minute to pull my cassette and turn and dump, about the same minute to open and close your valve after connecting your hose!

Wayne, if you're reading this thread, how about an update on how well you continue to like your Sealand? I think you are the "longest user," and would appreciate your comments.

Wayne helped me install the Sealand toilet into my 2000 3124 TM in the fall of 2012. This required cutting into the outside cover of the tub to gain more width. Wayne posted pictures of install and called Gene's install. I later vented the toilet out the side wall with 2 inch pvc. This has been the best mod for TM! No more smell, no more sloshed waste on the floor, no more swirling chocolate waste, no more cracked seat pinching my seat. Three year later, it still looks clean and works great.
One change that I would make, if I where to do it again. I would not to glue my 3" and 1 1/2" pipes. The use of rubber cuffs with the clamps is a good idea if you ever have a tire blow out. It could make the repair easier.

I called to order a Sealand from Scamp today. He told me the unit it $520 and it would cost $120 to ship to SC. I am wondering if anyone knows of a better place to buy and still get the 3" bottom drain.

Trying to rationalize installing such a expensive pot. I was finally OK with dropping an expected $500 but $640?? Not really feeling the Thetford curve either, but might consider now. I have to do something because wifey hates the ElectraMagic with a passionate passion.

I have been hoping to find some other sources as well, no luck so far. I too am thinking along the same lines. Considering how we use our unit, mainly just for infrequent short outings, and given the age and relatively low value of ours, I am starting to lean toward the cassette as well. Thinking if I happen to run across a great deal on a suitable built-in type in the future, I could change it again at that time.

I have found no other source in looking too. That has been a pretty big price jump in the last few years since the early days of guys installing that unit.

Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and go with the sealand from scamp. Looks like only researched and trialed options for a replacement pot is the sealand 711, Thetford curve, and Cassette. Really want to connect to sewer if available and I have a 10 gal tote that I can use if needed if sewer not available. So glad this forum exists to help out with these types of mods.
