Default Many new owner questions!

Just picked up a ”new to me” 1999 TM 2720 and looking for some wisdom from those with experience.
1. Wanting some more comfort from the bed. Replace the mattress or add on a topper?
2. When folded down, there’s about an inch of space between the top half and bottom roof. Best way to adjust and also make easier to clip in when ‘almost’ down?
4. Needing new Velcro on the inside. Recommends?
4. Don’t need the tv antenna. Leave it? Remove it? Convert for a flag?
5. Any other recommendations for a rookie?

From one relative newbie to another: You found the best source of information! We wouldn't have made it through the last couple of years without the help of people on this forum.

To answer a question- our bed is uncomfortable as well. We tried a 2" topper, but it was too thick for the back to go down right. We have to travel with nothing on the bed and then add cushioning when set up in Camp. On ours it looks like our maximum thickness is about 4 1/2".

I can't answer the other questions, but I wish you many, many happy nights in your Trailmanor.

Welcome to the forum. If, I can suggest, join. Its the best money you can spend if yer going to keep the camper.
You can search some of the sections, typing key words. In the interior section, type in velcro in the "search this forum" box and tons of good info will come up. When you sign up, you get 30 days to see all sections, after that. You are severely limited. Welcome to the TM.

We added a 2" topper from Wally world and it made our bed PERFECT (For us) With no prob popping "down"

Gordo -

3. Velcro. For holding the flaps up, TM changed from Velcro strips to screw-on black velcro circles (dots) some time ago. They hold better than the glue-backed strips. For holding the flaps closed, you could replace the old Velcro strips with new strips or dots. Both are available from any decent hardware store. Just look for some called "extra strength" or "industrial' or some other semi-meaningless term. Use the forum Search tool on the word Velcro to find several detailed discussions, such as the one linked by KidKraz.

4. Antenna. You can remove it, of course. You will need to seal the exterior roof opening, and the screw holes, with a metal disc and some sealant or caulk to prevent leakage. You will also need to deal with the appearance of the now-vacant hole in the interior ceiling, which won't be pretty. The bigger disadvantage comes when you go to sell the trailer, and the prospective buyer wants the antenna. Again, a forum Search will uncover better answers here.

If you decide to remove it, one thing you could do to patch the hole on the inside to make it look like the inside is use an wall protector, typically used to protect the wall from the knob of a door opening against the wall.

Search "prime line wall protector" for examples. They come in various diameters and colors, including one that is close to the ceiling color.

Something like this:
