Default Norcold Refrigerator Removal

I have searched the posts for tips on removal of the Norcold refrigerator from a 2004 3023. Could not find any details. My goal is to install the Norcold "wiring kit mod for the thermocouple" and install a CD/Radio. It probably only needs to slide out part way. Can anyone point me to a thread on this subject? I assume gas line(s) must be disconnected from outside.

I welcome any tips on doing this.

All it took on mine was to remove the screws on both sides and it will pull out a few inches

Default Refrigerator

Yes, keep it simple. Don't disconnect anything in the back just take out the screws on the front sides and there should also be a trim strip that has to be removed. You don't need to pull out the refrigerator to install a radio.

Thanks guys. I get the mod kit next week and will have a "fun" day I'm sure.

I'm still not sure why you think you need to remove the fridge.

I looked into adding a switch to control 12 volt operation from and exterior switch. It looks like I can access the necessary wires from the back (exterior access panel).

As for adding a radio. I slid mine in from the front. I stubbed some wires for external speakers to just inside the fridge access panel. On the rare occasion I want external speaker, I just pop the fridge panel open.

The only reason I can think of tor pull the fridge out is to repair or replace it.

Thanks for the heads up on frige "removal". Based on yours and the other posts, I believe I was being pessimistic about installing the radio and the wiring mod kit for the Norcold. I certainly will take all suggestions and hope I can accomplish both tasks without moving the refrigerator.

When I installed my radio, I did nearly all of the work from the front side of the radio.

However, I wanted to use the rear speaker jacks on the radio to feed outdoor speakers. I could not decide on a good location to install jacks that could later accept an extension wire to the speakers. I decided I would just leave the speaker wires dangling behind the fridge access panels on the street side. So I opened the fridge access panels open and routed the wires from the radio along the existing wire harness. The back of the radio can be reached from the external access panel behind the fridge. You may have to move the fridge insulation up or down to see the radio.
