Weight Distribution Hitch Bar Storage
I was surfing around trying out the new Bing Search Engine when I found this interesting site.
They have a storage solution for your WDH Bars which looks ideal so I thought I would see what everyone thought about it here.

That looks like a neat way to store the spring bars. I don't think it would work on models with front slides - SL's and SD's. In each case there is a frame member that pivots out as the slide moves toward the tongue.
Great idea though - thanks for posting the information.

Your Welcome maybe with this as a start someone that has experience with Sliders may have a way to make something similar work. I really like the concept though. It seems like it would help keep them clean also.
I had been thinking of a way to store under the trailer but this idea works just as good as what I was thinking.

Looks like a nice solution - but at $60 and $12 for shipping it seems a little pricey.

I agree on being over priced & I do think I could make something similar cheaper & maybe even add a little security to it.

The idea is good. I agree that it is a little pricey. Probably due to the fact that it's a pretty limited market (low volume).
I think that I may try to conjure up something similar, using PVC.

PVC HM hadn't thought of that material. Now I am going to be curious as to what you come up with. You can just send it to me for testing LOL ROFL

What about something like a 2-3 ft long piece of ABS pipe big enough to accept the spring bar, chain and all, clamped to the outside of the tongue rail on either side. slide in the spring bar and let the "L" hang down at the hitch end.
2 3ft long abs pipe
4 hose clamps (or equiv.)
Should come in way under the $60

That was my main reason for posting this I knew it would get a few of us thinking of alternative designs.

The reason for storing it with the hitch end covered is to keep the grease off your clothes and the dirt off of the bar. Putting that end in a round tube is perfect IMHO....However, the little tab that keeps someone from lifting it has little value IMO.......if you want to keep someone from taking the bars, simply lock the chains together under the trailer or too the trailer safety chains. I'm just simply not that concerned about having them taken.
