Weight Distributing Hitch

It is my understanding that you can't use a weight distributing hitch with the folding tongue option, is that correct?

That is NOT correct. I have had swing tongues and a WDH on both of my 2720SL TMs. I'm not sure where this rumor comes from, but it pops up about once a year. Many members here will refute it.

The attachment for the WDH is behind the hinge (closer to the trailer) for the swing tongue. It really makes no difference whether the tongue swings or not.
