Default What Brake Controller is best for 2720

What Brake Controller is recommended for TM 2720 and Dodge RAM pickup?
3000 to 4,000 pound trailer gross? Thanks

There are at least two of us using the Valley Industries Odyssey instead of the Prodigy.

If you want to know a lot about controllers then go do some reading on the forums at WWW.RV.NET. That should keep you busy for several days.

I agree that Prodigy appears to be used by more people than any other brand.

I have this one - http://www.truckcustomizers.com/prod...4REE682.1.html
I paid about $50 and it works really well. I don't have all the fancy readout, but I don't think I need it either. It works the brakes and that's all I want it to do.
Here's one at RVBusters and you may find them for less on eBay.

Just looked it up and here's one on eBay that is only 18.00. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NIB-R...spagenameZWDVW

I have a Reese that looks a lot the one Jim Erdman linked to. I've no complaints about it either.

Be sure to read the tutorial on Electric Brake Controllers in the TM Technical Library (aka TM Info You Won't Find Anywhere Else).

Not meaning any disrespect to anyone, but if you need to ask the question, the answer is probably Prodigy. It is not what I use, or, as you see, what a number of other members use, but it is simple, reliable, well-understood, very effective, and there is lots of information and experience out there to draw from.

I too own a Prodigy, why do I use the Prodigy and not the Oddesey? Simple, I found a great deal on E-Bay!! Money drives the train.

And when I bought mine, the Odyssey was cheaper. Timing.

I had the Draw-Tite with my popup. It worked well to stop the trailer, and even when I traded up to the TM it worked just fine. One exception. When going slow, as in a parking lot, or bumper to bumper accordion traffic I got lots of jerking and bouncing. Switched to Prodigy and everything is smooth as silk. Still using the Prodigy with my 5er. The only thing I know of that would be better is the "BrakeSmart" that hooks into your hydrolics system.
