NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 12T025
Synopsis:
Yokohama Tire Corporation (Yokohama) is recalling certain AVID Touring S tires, size 215/65R16 98T SL, produced between February 2009 and April 2009. The tires may have been produced with an irregular geometry in the casing turn up area above the tire bead in the lower sidewall. This irregular geometry may lead to a lower sidewall crack resulting in a rapid loss of tire inflation. Rapid air loss while the vehicle is in use may result in a tire failure that could cause a crash. Yokohama will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on, or about, October 20, 2012. Owners may contact Yokohama at 1-800-423-4544.

Default tire recall

If I've missed it, then set me straight, but I have seen nothing on recalling Michelin tires. I have bought 3 sets of Michelin tires over the years(different vehicles) and have never had a problem with them. They may be a little more pricey, but they ride GREAT, they are quieter than other tires that I have used, and they wear extremely well. Just my thoughts, others may not have had the same experience....jsw

Synopsis:

Beijing Capital Tyre Co. (BCT) is recalling certain Autoguard LT245/75R16 tires manufactured June 25th, 2012, through November 11th, 2012.
