I towed my 2720 home without a wdh. Once was enough. The front end was so high I kept getting flashed by people thinking I had my brights on. I did not have steering issues or maybe I just didn't recognize them at the time. After that I pulled that 2720 from Illinois to Florida three times, Virginia twice and Denver plus some short trips.

I now have a similar sized trailer and am using an Anderson No Sway. A lot easier to attach. I have also gone up to a Jeep Grand Cherokee but like the WDH for sway reduction and a little more weight on the front end as I tried without it and it was a little light in the front feeling.

Until last year I towed my 2720 with a Blue Ox Sway Pro with 750 bars. I was a good hitch and I never had any sway problems as the TV and TM were rock solid. The only drawback was its weight. I'm not getting any younger so the 96lb towhead weight was getting to much for me. The torsion bars were also quiet heavy. I changed to a Anderson No Sway, which by the way only weights 60 lbs totally. I'm on the way back to Calgary through the Rockies, a 800 mile trip one way and I tell you that the Anderson hitch is fantastic. No bouncing, no sway and a perfectly level TM and TV. I'm glad I went to that hitch.

Yes, we do (Pro Series w/ no sway) in the Rockies (2720 QB w/2" lift, '13 Jeep GC V8 and water tank 2/3s full).

Default Like the Anderson no sway

When we bought our TM used it came with a Reese WDH, but missing the lift rod. We towed a few trips without it, then bought the lift rod and towed with the WDH and felt more secure in driving. It was so heavy though. I was thinking, I'm adding 100 pounds on the hitch to take off 500? The Anderson No Sway WDH is much lighter and easier to attach, and I've been happy with it, even though I know I don't need the no sway feature.

Default Wdh

MY TV is a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton PU. I've never had a sway problem and have not used a wdh. I would recommend paying careful attention to your brake controller and how the TM acts when you are forced to panic brake. Do some testing in a safe place. Proper adjustment of the controller and the condition of your TV and TM brakes makes a big difference when you are forced to stand on it !

I pulled our 3326 a total of 9 hours (Youngstown, OH to Cedar Point, OH the. home to Rochester, NY) after we bought it last October without a weight hitch with a GMC Envoy. It pulled ok as long as we were cruising. Luckily all towing was during daylight hours because the rear squatted and pointed the headlights to the sky. It did bounce quite a bit over any bumps or bridge joints. It was parked for the season after that. We added an Andersen No-Sway WDH and it leveled everything right out, and no more bounce.

**However their "no grease required" claim is false. While the ball moves with the coupler side to side (the basis for no grease) which is how they control sway, the coupler still will move up and down on the ball and after about 500 miles started making an awful creaking/groaning noise. Their fix was a little grease on the ball. That was disappointing, no grease was one of the selling points for the Andersen.

I have the Andersen 3324... From what I gather the different models are just different combinations of 2" or 2&5/16" ball, and 4" or 8" rise/drop brackets. Mine has a 2" ball and 4"drop/rise. I'm pretty sure the rest is all the same.

Which one do you have?

See above some do some don't.

What is your TV?

What are you planning to tow?

Unless you own the "wonderjeepfiatbenz" mystery vehicle that Padgett owns (in the mid CUV category) you will probably want/need a WDH.
