Default 2005 Pilot and Towing

This forum has been so helpful in our decision on a TM! We crunched the numbers last night, and the only way we could safely tow a 2619 or a 2720 with our 2005 Honda Pilot (towing capacity is 3500) would be to leave our bikes, 2 dogs, and kayaks at home. We often go up into the Sierras, so elevation is a factor. That leaves us with the 2417 as our best option. Does anyone know if it's possible to put in a larger fridge instead of the wimpy one that comes with the 2417?

If your referring to the height of the fridge, then no. The vertical size is critical. Nothing taller than the counter top. Anything taller will not allow the roof to close.

I went to a TM rally in Pismo Beach last year. There was a couple there who had an extra fridge in their TM. The lady was using a type of food therapy that required fresh organic food, hence the extra one.

Their TM was one of the models with a slide and couch in the front. They had bought a small office sized refrigerator and carried it where the chair goes on those models. When they were set up they sat it on a little dolly he had made so they could move it around. It was about 3-4 feet tall. When they closed up they just took it off the dolly so it would fit. I don't know if it ran of 12 volts.

A lot of us just use a combination of ice chests and the fridge.
