Default Shower faucet impossible to get parts for install question.

My shower faucet has sprung a leak. Tried replacing all the internal washers and still leaks and probably needs new brass stems which no one seems to have for this. So unfortunately time to replace it. Unfortunately another part going to landfil. Agrrr. But I tried.

So my question is on install side. The RV bath faucet in my trailer is installed to the side wall. I know the typical install is to get at the water connections is by first removing the exterior shower. However I am repainting the bath so is there a way to just remove that back wood pannel behind the shower faucet and replace it from inside? Has anyone done this and have any suggestions for me? I wpuld much rather not disturb that exterior shower to do this if I can.

Thanks

If it’s mounted to a box built on top of the tub you would detach the box and pull it forward to reach the connections.

Unfortunately for me it's not ... its built into a bump out on the wall like the below picture.

It looks like you backed the two screws out, does the wall not come forward enough? Does the seals on the edging prevent you from pulling it off?

Yeah that gray thing is the box. Unattach it from the wall, pull it forward, and you’ll see the plumbing connections.

You'll have to cut into the caulk and reseal it after the work is done.

Thanks guys... the picture I posted is from the net and not my TM. I will look closely and see if I have similar screws that I can back out. Not sure I do but definately do have silicone caulk around the pannel. Good to know that pannel can be removed from the inside. I much prefer to tackle it from there since it's going to get a fresh coat of paint after the replacement. I will try and post an after shot once all complete.
