Default bathroom mirror

I got the mirror off today with no damage to the wall paper behind it. i used a butter knife to get behind it and break the silicone bond. we ordered a lightweight oak colored wicker medicine cabinet and will mount it where the mirror was. it sure will free up alot of space in the bathroom.

We are going to want to see that when you are done.

How will you keep the contents secured inside when folded down?

Another question is: When you fold down the bathroom wall with the mirror on it, how much room is left between the folded down shower wall and the mirrored wall? I don't think there is enough room for anything other than the mirror...of course I've been wrong before.

Not sure if this will work but on another site rvpics.com a lady by the name of Kathy uses sticky back velcro to hold all the contents of her medicine cabinet. Some items attach to the ceiling of the medicine cabinet with velcro on the medicine bottle cap and some attach to the walls of the cabinet with vecro on the back of the bottles.

Witzclan -

I'm with CaliCamping on this one. I don't believe there is space to permanently mount anything thicker than the mirror in this spot. Are you planning to make the medicine cabinet removable (velcro, hooks, or whatever), and removing it before you collapse the bathroom walls? If so, it sounds like a pretty good idea.

We use what LLBean calls "personal organizers" - actually a compartmented folding canvas case, and hang one on each side of the mirror. When we are taking the TM down, we just fold up these cases and toss them in the bathtub. It is nice to keep the mirror for shaving, etc.

Yes, I will only have the hangers in place when I fold it down. The cabinet will be removable like the factory cabinets. This wicker medicine cabinet is 6" deep and a little smaller dimension than the mirror i took down but since the wallpaper wasn't damaged at all it will be a great modification to the clutter in the small bathroom. the place where i ordered it said it weighs approx 5 lbs including the mirror. Wicker is very light weight. I will post a pic when it gets here. Jeff

You probably want to be sure you don't load the cabinet up much. I know we tend to load up the over-sink cabinet quite full, and it is heavy. But that bathroom wall doesn't have a joint with the ceiling to support that kind of weight.
