Default Wdh

We have not put a WDH on our Highlander because the factory did not recommend it, as it is a 'unibody' with no frame.......ours is a 2012, don't know if it has changed. We also put most of our weight over the axle in the TM, as we are on the edge for our tongue weight, but we never have sway. We are careful not to have much weight in the back of the TM. My 2 cents....

we use a 600 lb wdh on our 2012 highlander with the OEM hitch Toyota does not give you any extra tow capacity like they did in the earlier highlander and Sienna models before the new towing standards kicked in. I figured a WDH does not help tow more weight up the DAM HILL test, which is one of the harder test in the standard is the reason for no additional weight.

But the WDH does a nice job leveling off the Highlander and give a nicer towing e.xperience.

Default Thanks

Appreciate all the information. Checked tires right before I left Goodyear Endurance 15 inch, my money is on the weight distribution. My real tow vehicle for my 2720 SL is a 2014 Yukon, but since I only had 30 miles to go, I thought I would just go with the Highlander. Brake controllers on the Yukon not on the Highlander. I'm planning on towing it back with the Yukon.

Um. Look in here and see what your state's law is. Odds are you broke it. Those trailer brakes aren't that good, but your stopping distance with no brakes on that trailer, and no WDH, on a Highlander must be pretty bad.

You set yourself up, and lucked out. Don't try for two in a row. :-)
