Default Slide on Living or Dining

We purchased a 1999 2720SL this spring and the track on the slide was in very rough shape. Actually when we purchased it took to adult men to open by lifting the slide and pulling with all we could mustard. Purhased new nylon bushings and washers at Lowe's and I was able to open and close it myself. Still not easy, but doable.
I purchased new tracks, bolts, bushings and washers from the TM factory and installed today. At first it was almost impossible for me to open, but used some graphite and it was easier and the more I slide it in and out the easier it got except the intial pull from the closed position. That is still tough.
Before I forget the old track was 1 1/4 inches high and the new one is 2 inches. Not sure if the answer to question 4 is because the track is higher.

Question 1 is does anyone who has a slide that is 1999 or older or maybe newer if it has or had the 1 1/4 inch track replaced with the newer size?

Question 2 are all the slides a little tough to get moving, but then move with not much energy? I know my wife could never get it started.

Question 3 Do all of the slides have play from side to side when your pulling or pushing them?

Question 4 Inside rollers. Is the slide suppose to be touching the roller wheels when the slide is in the closed position? Mine are not!

By the time I get done I think I could build a TM. Done plumbing, electrical, replaced wood apolstered the couch and now the slide. Going to reinstalling the awning this coming weekend. Don't think I want to learn anymore right now just want to use it. (smile)

Not much help here as our unit has the newer track.

Yes, with our unit, the initial tug requires more effort to start the slide moving - and does move easily from that point.

Yes, our slide has a tendency to move side-to-side while opening and closing.

When pushed in, our slide does rest on the roller wheels. Sounds like the track you installed is too tall. That may also be part of the reason for the difficulty encountered in pulling out the slide.

One other possibility. In my 2002 2720SL, the floor of the slide flexed downward in the center when weight was put on it - like someone standing in the center of the slide's front edge, between the tables. If this flex becomes a permanent bow, I can imagine that the carpet on the underside of the slide would come to rest on the carpet on the floor. This would cause a lot of resistance to sliding, and might even lift the front edge of the slide off the floor. The carpets should not come into contact - there is a rubber lip to seal the gap.

The flexing got worse as time went on, and the soft feeling of the floor became unnerving. Denny_A experienced the same thing, and we developed different fixes. Denny's was better - mine was too elaborate - but you can see them both here although the pictures may have gotten lost. The discussion will also give you some insight into what is happening under the floor, which might be helpful.

Thanks for the replies.
I have thought of removing the one nylon bushing below the track and see if that would let the slide rest on the inside rollers. Just need to get up the energy to do it. Don't want to have to take it off and then have to reinstall it. Have also thought about adding some nylon strips on the botton of the slide living area, so the wheels do make contact.
Thanks again for your answers.
