Default overhead lights not working

Anyone suggest why my overhead switch lights are not working all of a sudden? everything else is working. I can't find a fuse that is burned out. Very strange.

Is it all of the overhead lights, or just in one location in particular?

It is all of the switch lights on the ceiling including the bathroom. The outside light works fans and AC works. They worked the last time I was in there a number of months ago.

I know it's unlikely, but have you checked bulbs? Or did you swap to LEDs?

What B and D may be suggesting is that the switch under the edge of the rear shower wall may not be fully depressed. This switch controls the lights in the rear shell only, so if your front shell lights (over the sink, over the stove) are also out, then this switch is not the issue.

If all the fuses in the converter box are good (there are about 10 fuses), then you may have a bad ground somewhere. It is worth looking at the wiring diagram in your blue book. It shows the routing of the wires to the lights in the roof panels, and should show where the grounds are made..

Do you have a voltmeter, and know how to use it? You can check to see if power is reaching the light fixtures themselves.

Let us know.

I am going to check all the fuses - I had looked at most of them but I am going to test them all. Then I am going to check all the bulbs. I have to order some new bulbs, only have one spare...anyone know what LED replacement works good for 1141 bulbs?
I will let you know what I find. Thanks everyone!

When you say “the lights on the ceiling” do you mean front, rear, or both sections? Each section is fused separately. Check ALL the fuses in the fuse block. Replace any fuses that are blown. If you replace fuses and they immediately blow, we will have to dig deeper.

Does everything else DC work? Toilet, fans, CO/propane detector, etc. If not, we have a power supply issue. Do you have a battery installed? Is the fuse at the battery OK? If you still have no DC systems working we will have to dig deeper.

Usually the rear roof is controlled by the bathroom wall (or sometimes bed slide) switch, but there are some units that the switch controls all the ceiling lights. Let’s test the switch. With the bathroom walls closed, push the switch all the way down and hold it. Lights work? Something has some give to it, allowing the switch to move. Still no lights? Cut the wires out of the switch and twist them together. Lights work? Switch is bad, replace the switch. If there are still no lights we will have to dig deeper.

So I checked all the fuses for continuity - all good. Checked the bulbs and most are fine. There is one I am not sure about but I have to wait for new bulbs to arrive and I don't know that is the problem. If one was burned out it wouldn't affect the others, right?
The fans, co2 dectector, ac , outside light switch, all work
I installed a new battery a few months ago, and right now camper is plugged in.
It is all of the small ceiling lights with bulb front and back (6 of them), and the florescent light in the bathroom.

I don't think I have a bathroom wall switch for lights. I looked around and I can't find a switch anywhere like that. I have never had to do that before, lights always just worked. This is a 2004 unit.

I haven't had time to get out the book and look at wire diagram yet.

If the bathroom wall switch is working you might have to start looking at the wiring for the lights themselves.

I had to pull down all of my lights for the same problem. I believe that one of them had a wire shorting against the aluminum shell and it kept all of the lights from working. For me it was the one in the furthest back, over the bed, which also has a ground strap for that circuit.

I'm still not sure why it didn't blow a fuse but kept the lights from working. You might try unscrewing the light fixtures from the ceiling and taking a look at the wiring.
