Default Instrall a vent cover over the fantastic roof vent?

Has anyone installed a Vent Cover over the existing fantastic fan vent? I have always installed vent covers over a couple roof vents especially the fantastic fans to keep the RV cool and fresh air. Our dog camps with us and we always used the vent fan operating with a vent cover incase it rains!
Installing vent covers has been the first addition to our numerous RV's over the past fifty years! I was surprised to see that the vents on our TM are not screwed to the roof as most Rv's and are instead glued? to either wood or plastic on top of the roof. Can I screw a vent cover over the roof vent by screwing into the base (wood/plastic?) under the roof vent and sealing the screw areas?? Thanks for any input. Jim in Livonia, MI TM 2720SL 2007

Default Maxxair vent

If you can afford it this is really cool:

Thermostat controlled and bi-directional.

I have a regular vent cover over a regular vent, and that was really easy to install. Seems like it would work on the fantastic vent as well.

Our vent covers are clamped. If you remove the inside bezel, you will see 4 clamps. I prefer this way because it eliminates the need for screw holes, a major reason for leaks.

There's no reason you cannot screw in the vent cover of choice.

We installed the camco aero vents over all the vents including the fan vent. I had to drill 4 - 3/16holes in the side of each vent. Took about 1/2 hour each.
