Smile 2013 TrailManor Rebate

I just called TrailManor and had a very helpful conversation with Eddie. I saw offers online for a TrailManor rebate until the end of August. There is a $1000 rebate that most dealers can get and then pass along to customers. They checked the dealer I am visiting tomorrow, and they are on the list to get the rebate.

I also asked Eddie about some changes to the 2720SL in this model year and thought I would pass this information along.

With the 2013, the sink is raised up smooth with the refrigerator, as mentioned on this forum. They have also switched from the upholstered recliner to a leather look club chair. He mentioned that they had had some quality issues with the manufacturer of the recliner and had to switch chairs.

The power slide is still standard and they are still unable to offer a 40 gallon fresh water tank as the tank remains under the sink. (I had seen several dealers online incorrectly advertise the 40 gallon tank on this model.)

Picking it up at the factory is an option but then they would have to charge you for the LP tanks and other extras that the dealer generally supplies with the TM. So I think we will just plan on having it delivered to the dealer.

I was very impressed by the friendliness of the staff member I talked to and his concerns about quality. There was a lot of pride in the company!

As an additional complement to TrailManor, the company makes the units better and better each year keeping up with technology and they implement fixes and improvements using "lessons-learned" from the user base.

When I go to RV shows, I see other manufacturers making attempts to make the unit cheaper and more sloppy with the workmanship.

We placed an order for a 2013 TrailManor 2720SD yesterday. We decided to go with the dinette instead of the sofa. I wasn't thrilled with the style of the new side chair and decided that the dinette would work better for playing board games. Also the three drawer dresser would fit in the area near the dinette for more storage.

We were able to negotiate a good price and then got the rebate on top of that so we are happy. We are hoping to get it in three weeks and then take it on a test trip.

In looking at the storage space on the unit, I was surprised that there was not more storage under the queen size bed. For some reason, I had the impression that there was a bigger external storage area on the back end. So I guess we will have to get creative.

I have been having fun shopping for kitchen items and other essentials. I found some large pill dispensers that I am going to use for holding spices. I thought that would be a neat way of keeping the spices together. I went with Corelle dishes since they are so lightweight and can be used in the microwave. I haven't broken one in over 20 years of using them daily.

We picked up some Corelle dishes at an outlet in Florida last winter. They've held up really well. With all the bouncing around in the trailer you would expect a few scratches, but so far nothing.
