Default Two outside courtesy lights not staying on.

of course it had to show up when showing the trailer for sale. Neither the light outside the door nor the one on the other side worked. I popped the clear shell off and jiggled bulb/wires and they both worked so I know the bulb is good, but would not stay lit. It has always been under cover, so no rust issues that I can tell. I put electrical goop on the bulb but that did not seem to change anything.

My next step is to disconnect each lead and just sand them. Is there any other tips/tricks I can try before buying a new light fixture?

thank you, carl

I suspect the switch is corroded. And the problem is made even worse when the bulbs are LEDs. Since they take far less power, and thus current, than incandescent bulb, it doesn't take much resistance (from corrosion) to prevent them from coming on.

You could try some aerosol contact cleaner in the switch.
