Default Cords hanging on Drivers side

So on the back side of TM there are the electrical cords. I bought mine used, and the dealer zip tied the cords onto the torsion bars. I have to make sure I cut the zip tie before opening. But I'm worried I might forget once, then when I pop it up the wires might get pulled too hard and ripped from the trailer when it opens. I know there has to be a better way? If I don't have the cords zip tied on the torsion bar when folded down they would hang dangerously to low to the ground and tire while traveling. Any suggestions? Zip ties work, but that can't be the solution.

A photo of the problem area would help. I can't imagine anything being tied to the torsion bars, which are under the trailer. Perhaps you mean the lift arm - the white rectangular bar?

When secured properly with the zip ties or with plastic fasteners, you can open and close your TM with no damage to the electric cords. If no one else posts a photo of the proper positioning of the cord and fastener, I will post one when I pull my rig out later this week.

Mine are zipped to the lift arm. There is a happy medium between too tight and too loose. There should be several plastic guides on that lift arm that secure the heavy cord and on mine, several smaller wires run on the backside channel or inside of the lift arm behind the white plastic cover that runs the length of that arm. My unit is stored off site from my home so I cannot provide a photo at this time.

We are packed and ready to go, as soon as the sun is up I'll get a pic in the folded position and when we get to the CG this afternoon. May not be able to post them before wed though as tonights and tomorrows stop have poor cell coverage for the hotspot.

You mean the wires in the picture ? Those are 12v and 120v supply to the roof modules/lights/AC.

Have mixed feelings:
1) could put in a channel on the strut
2) without a channel, can see if fraying begins.

Of course if in a channel they won't fray and are not exposed to weather/sunlight.

OP, there should be sufficient slack in the cords at the "upper" end of the lift arm so that the cords are not pulled tight by lifting or lowering of the shell. If there is not sufficient slack, you may need to pull some of the wiring from under the body, up the lift arm to allow for sufficient slack.

Let us know what you find. The zip ties are on all of our units, and we don't have to remove them to open or close our TMs.
