Default GFCI Heads Up

FYI,

We picked up our 2001 2619 this weekend and, while testing things out, I pressed the 'test' button on the GFCI in the Magnetek power distribution panel. The breaker tripped like it was supposed to but would not reset and after some testig, determined it was a bad breaker.

The breaker is a 15 Amp GFCI made by Cutler-Hammer which none of the big box stores stocked. After some calling around I was able to find a comparable Siemens GFCI at Lowes which fits, and appears ot work, just fine. (Note, I do not know if these breakers are certified in the Magnetek cabinet so do your own research to make sure you are comfortable with doing so.)

Thus, the morals of the story are:
- Regularly check your GFCI breaker by testing it
- GFCI breakers can save lives and testing them is a 'good thing to do'
- Siemens breakers appear to fit and work in the Magnetek 6300 series cabinets
