Re: Grilling on a TM gas stove?
Wade, if memory serves me correctly there was an issue over an electric jack toasting the converter, you might want to search that out and see. I don't know what converter you have in your new 03 model, or jack, but you seriously might want to check it out just to be on the safe side. It's been a while, but I think the problem was burning out the whole 12v side of the converter or something like that. It may not at all be a problem with your unit, but then again, it's not an option I'm aware of that TM offers...(tho it may be now)....worth a look anyway............

Frying the converter with an elec tongue jack
Happytrails and DenTed,
Appreciate your reminder about the potential converter issue with the 6300 series. Seems like everyone tries to watch out for each other on this group, which is one of the reasons I enjoy it so much. I read those posts a while back and did not want to run into the same problem. Also didn't like the converter "noise" I was getting through the radio and TV. I installed the 7300 converter upgrade so no worries about converter issues while plugged into 120V and now I have very well filtered power to all the TM appliances. Works like a champ!
Oh yeah, as for camping in Bonita Canyon last week, we had fantastic weather. Our family hike through part of the Chiricahua NP was memorable. First chance to use the small grill on the stove and I have to tell you it performed just perfect. Smoke in the TM was not an issue with the Fantastic vent fan running on low with a window cracked.

Re: Grilling on a TM gas stove?
Hey, NP Wade, is why I'm here anyway, as is most of the others. Sounds like you guys had a great time out. Can't wait to get mine out in some decent weather. Can't believe all this time my furnace worked like a champ, and only didn't start because I didn't read the directions! "Doooohh" (said in the Homer Simpson voice) lol :-[

Luxury TM
Well, we live in VA and our next mods will be a gray water tow along tank and the grey water heater pad. Temps here get well into freezing in the winter.
As for the feather beds--we have joked about adding the "NASA" foam toppers to ours. But really, from the 8 foot long no frills pop up to a 3023 is a big jump into luxury. (The mattresses are at least three times as dense and twice as thick in the TM.) Not to mention the fact that we can actually take a shower and even wash dishes and our faces without having to heat water on the stove.
I even have a spice rack mounted near the sink for my culinary pleasures.
Luxury--You bet!
