I'm the son of davlin and while I've never owned a TM I have considerable experience with one from using his as the guesthouse when I visit. The TM toilet doesn't have any more smell than any other toilet, and I don't care if it uses dirty water to flush the toilet. By the time I get to the point that the toilet needs to be flushed I would already consider it dirty.
One of the reasons I want to leave the Pop-Up community is cassette toilets. For me there is nothing more disheartening than listening to my families excrement glug out of the cassette in to the park toilet or dump site. It is akward to dump at the dump station and a little to in your face at a toilet. I will not buy another trailer that doesn't have a black water connection.
As far as the original question I've never treated the toilet in my dad's TM any differently than the one in his house.
