Light showing between shells

On this beautiful Texas morning I noticed light showing in the gap between the shells (on one side only). Pretty sure we don't want that!

I will check the bag seal when we fold down. Assuming it's OK, is there an adjustment for this? Like to slightly lower the front shell door side corner?

You might try adjusting the front of the rear shell up. Do you have a pic of the outside seal with the trailer open? That could be tricky. How hard is it to close the rear shell?

Messing with the front shell will change your door alignment. If that's a good thing (in your case), do it. If your door fits good now, I wouldn't mess with it.

My bag seals are smooshed flat all the way across when the trailer is open.

I noticed that light is showing in from the "peak" of the roofline, and less as you go to the edges. Can you check to see that there is a crown on both shells?

Did anyone ever climb onto the rear shell at any time?

I don't think that it's bent. Look at the bag seal. It's not even close to being flattened. Either the front shell need to be lowered or the rear shell needs to be raised. It may take a little finagling.

I didn't say that it was "bent". Rather, the rear shell may be "flattened" for some reason. I still think he should at least check that the crown of the roof is the same on both shells. After that, he should check that the shells are in fact set at the correct height. There is a specification for the shell height, but I'll have to look it up as I've forgotten what it is supposed to be.

Great info, thanks to all. Door alignment is fine and it's easy to open and close the trailer. No one has ever climbed on the roof. Both shells are crowned.

There has always been a gap on that side when the trailer is folded down, perhaps that is related.

Will report back after I fold down and have a chance to investigate.

Now this information is interesting. The lift arm height adjustment won't affect the gap when closed. Perhaps you could check the big angle bracket through which the torsion bar fits to make sure they are in good shape? Perhaps something blocking the front shell from closing all the way?

I would still take a lift arm height measurement (39.5") to make sure those specifications are correct.

It turned out to be the best possible answer.

When we first opened the trailer, a big gust of North Texas wind blew the lenses out of both of the lights mounted in the overhead vent. We found one of them laying in the grass but could never locate the other one.

When I folded the trailer down, the other one was found. It had landed on top of the back shell in just the perfect position to interfere with the bag seal. Both the lens and the seal appear to be undamaged from their adventure.

So, the gap when folded down is unrelated.
