I'll admit these stories concern me. The other side of the story came from fordmakuloco who is a former Ford tech. But, he did say to drop the pan each year and change the filter. Also, he advised against flushing machines for the 6 speed. I hope I don't become another statistic.

Only things my Jeep has needed are factory refits, recalls, and oil changes. Did switch to Michelins. Just took a quick trip to Jax and recorded 24.6 MPG of 87 PON. Not bad for a barn door.

I thought I'd follow up on that heater hose I had replaced. The dealer in Anaheim installed the hose incorrectly and allowed the hose to touch the exhaust manifold. The local dealer up here confirmed the faulty installation. 8 months later, it burned through and I had to replace it all over again. The dealer down there refused to answer any of my e-mails.

Nice, huh?

I would contact Ford customer service directly. I had a problem trying to get a switch from my dealer, I reached out to FCA and they got involved. Still took longer than I felt it should, but I brought a problem to main corporates attention. Companies do listen to their customers.
