Default Some new modifications for us!

We had the unexpected pleasure of camping next to BTBlazer last week. We have made a lot of mods on our TM but wow, did we come home with a list of new ones! They are super nice people but watch out! Their ideas will cost you!

My favorite is adding a grate at the steps. Excuse me if I repeat but I haven't been on here much lately and don't know if this has gone around before. It rains pretty much every afternoon where we camp in the summer and this is going to be so dang handy for shoes. HD sells this in a box and it fits like it was made just for this. They have also done this on the spare tire holder and we're still thinking about that.

I have seen the bathtub wall mod on line for ages but didn't think it was for me until I saw it in person. Got that done.

Another brilliant idea was to reroute the fresh water holding tank overflow drain straight down for those of us who have done the fill from the drain tube modification. We did that early on plus added a deck plate which seals great unless we are blasting water up into it beyond full. The extra time to shut it off that this will buy us will be great for us.

Have they shared their brilliant awning mods? We're going to make those happen when we are out starting Sunday. Can't wait!

A grate for your shoes. What a great idea!

Exactly where does the grate for shoes sit? Thanks,

At the top of the steps. When the steps fold in, they clear the grate. Great place for wet/muddy shoes, as you are entering the TM when you remove your shoes. They stay out of all but the worst blowing rain, also.

Hey, OneMoBear, thanks for the all the kudos! Sure enjoyed camping next to you guys and seeing all the mods you've done to your TM. What a huge coincidence to be camped right next to another TM clear out in the "wilds" of Colorado. Enjoy the rest of your camping season!

Default Awning modifications

BTBlazer uses lynch locks through holes in the legs to keep them from sliding. It's hard to explain but I'll take pictures once we have ours installed unless they do so before Sunday. The drill is packed and ready to make that happen :-)

Also, some version of this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o01_s00 is awesome. Apparently the spring matched to the entire package is the key. Got this :-)

They ordered an additional rafter (the center arm on the awning). They use it at the very end of the awning on the door end. We spend extended time in AZ in the winter and for both shade and privacy we hang sun shade material on the sides of the awning. If it is hung from the arms, it interferes with the door. We tried attaching it to the far outside edge and then to the awning itself at the trailer side but that was far from perfect. Fiamma is crazy proud of those rafters, as in $65ish. We may go down that road but this weekend we are going to try an adjustable, spring loaded curtain rod. Our goal is to have it simply stay in place without pushing out on the awning. We'll update when we can.

P.S. There is now a Rafter Pro available that is curved to divert rain. If we end up buying a rafter we will buy that and use it in the middle and the original on the end. They are really proud of it and recommend it not be used for extended periods as it could stretch the awning material.

Default Awning

So, I'm using my phone with iffy reception but I'll give it a shot. The tension rod is a solid idea. The one I found in our basement is too flimsy & too short. Ordered an 84" to 120" by 1" from Bed bath & Beyond. $48 with shipping but for us, will be well worth it.

And the pins 😀. No squeaking, no sliding.

When I bought the new F45s (Fiamma is on the other side of Orlando) it included a center rafter. Need to figure it out.
