Default changing to 15" wheels & Tires

Hi all,
I am new to the forum and just purchased my first TM. Sorry if this has been asked before but I was wondering if I can change out my 14" wheels on my 2007 2619 to 15"? I have read all of the issues with 14" tire failures so I either wanted to know what is the best 14 tire to use or change to 15". Thanks

First, measure the clearance between the top of your tires and the plastic wheel well liner (on mine the street side is less than the curb side). What size tires do you have now ?

Next there should be a tag on the inside of one of the sink cabinet doors with the max weight (GMVW) listed. What is it ?

This will determine what size tire you can mount and what mods will be needed.

Dancin -

KidKraz is correct. At the moment, you are a Trial Member, so you have access to everything in the entire forum. This means you can scroll down through this Tires Tires Tires forum, and find a ton of information addressing your question. It won't be long, though, before your Trial Membership expires, and you will lose access to much of the forum content. By becoming a Site Sponsor, you will continue to have full access.

Sorry that should have been GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) and not GMVW. Too many FLAs.

My 2720 has a GVWR of 4217 lbs. (Unloaded Vehicle Weight 3243 lbs) Subtracting tongue weight (measured) of 470 lbs and adding 15% for cornering and shock load requires a tire load capacity of at least 2150 lbs each.

Default Aluminum wheels

Can anyone tell me if they know of a source for the black plastic center cap (or entire decorative chome hub) on the center of a TM 15", 6-lug, aluminum wheel?
The dealer didn't get the bearing dust cap on the spindle on tight when in for service (among other things), so it came off inside the chrome hub and broke out the plastic center cap. Unable to locate one, I've temporarily(?) replace the chrome hub with another type not having the removable center cap for 'easy-lubing' w/o removing the wheels.

If I've uploaded thumbnail properly, you'll see the wheel, center hub & cap below. Appreciate any info - factory no help!

The manufacturer of the wheel's name should be cast into the backside of the wheel. I'd call them.

Roger that, Padgett. When the snow's gone will make a trip to the storage lot and check inside of wheel. Thx!
P.S. Apparently Windows not able to resize my avatar as small as I'd like, it's a work in progress.

I resized it for you using Windows Paint (under Accessories) set to 30%. How's that look?

Dancin, When were your tires made? If they are old and need replacing, I would go to 15" tires.

I have the same concern, but the PO put brand new tires, date code late 2013 on the TM before we bought it. We decided to stay with new tires for 4 years then switch to 15". But we travel light. In the meantime I have installed a lift kit to be ready in case I lose a tire on the road and need to buy a replacement that would be a 15". There seemed to be a manufacturing problems with the goodyears made somewhere between 2006 and 2011, which my tires are after that date.
