I want to see how NT responds because if it is an issue I want them to stop offering the combo since most people would not notice. I would also like to know if the eTrailer tire/wheel is the same since both may be being supplied from the same place.
Once I return the tires, I lose that leverage.
This is more than just me. Note that the assembly (tire/wheel) is being advertised as capable of 2150 lbs.
ps I just confirmed with Dextar Wheel that that tire should not have been put on that wheel and they said it could crack. I am trying to get proper documentation for this.
pps BTW Dexstar also said that the 15x5 JJ is rated at 1820 lbs and the 15x6 at 2050. Just checked and my wheels appear to be the 6" rim width but is still 100 lbs less than the advertised capacity. this should be plenty for a static load but I always derate a street tire by 20% to account for side loads when cornering.
Back when I was autocrossing my 78 Sunbird seriously (twice state champion) I used to check the right front wheel every run for cracks and usually had to junk at least one after every event. Once I ripped the entire center hub out. Fortunately Vega GT wheels were cheap.

Your sticker says it's a 15x5 wheel. Are you measuring the width from the interior bead seat to interior bead seat? If you incorrectly measure the wheel width from outside edge to outside edge on a 15x5 wheel it will show about 6 inches. Is there a measurement stamped on the wheel?
Is Dexstar telling you the 15x5 wheel is limited to 50psi or are you assuming that based upon the wheel's 1820lb limitation? That would be a safe assumption.
I think the 20% safety margin is very wise - both for the wheel and the tire. That is why I upgraded my 2007 TM2619 from 14" to 15" wheels/tires.

Verified that is is a 15x5 JJ wheel which is bad. Now have Dexter Wheel, Martin Wheel, and Northern tool involved.
The Martin Site shows a DM205R5D-5CI as having a 6" rim so it appears definite I have the wrong wheels which have a load rating 300 lbs lower than the tires.
In any event I cancelled my state park reservation for this weekend since am not going anywhere until this is resolved.
ps Dexter said "15x5 (017-143) Dexstar Wheels are rated @ 1820 lbs. @ 80PSI" so that is not an issue.
Since the size information is on the rim I would suggest that anyone with LRD tires check their rims.

Padgett,
Remember, if you have the 3500lb Dexter axle on your TM, that will be the most limiting weight of the axle, wheel, and tire system when you actually load up the TM. If you increase the safety margin for the wheel and tire by about 20% you will want 2150lbs minimum. Although you should never load the TM axle to 4300lbs, having the wheels and tires running at 80% (3500lbs) is safer than running the current 14 wheels/tires at near 100% - especially after the tires are 3+ years old.
Even if you had the correct Dexstar 15x6 wheel from Northern Tool, it can only take 2050lbs at 75psi. That still doesn't match the Kenda's tire's weight of 2150lbs. You want the wheel's weight and psi limits to be equal to or greater than the tire's. Hope Northern Tool figures this out and corrects the situation. Just because you will never load the wheel and tire above 1820lbs doesn't mean they should sell a mismatched wheel/tire combo. You made a good catch!
Both the steel spoke white rims and the 8-ply Maxxis 205/75R15 I bought from Discount Tire match at 2150lbs. Discount Tire figured it all out, ordered it, and put it all together for me in 1 week. No hassles. I just showed up at the local dealer, paid the bill, and loaded them in my truck.

The other issue with NT tires, is you can't check DOT Dates. When I buy tires, especially tires that don't move in volume, ie trailer tires, I always ask to see date codes before they are mounted. If the date code is not recent, I have them sent back.

I vote to make Bill, our moderator, our "National TM Champion" as he has forgotten more than most of us know about TM's. Thanks Bill!

Highway tires sold in this country with DOT approval must have a date code. It may only be on one side of the tire but must be there. 50th week 2013 in this case. If you pick up at the store you can check.

Padgett, it looks like you were fortunate with the date code on your internet purchased tires. Would have been spendy to send them back if they were old.

Most places will not send tires back once they are mounted. When I did my upgrade, I told dealer not to mount until he called with date codes.

I'll take this as a compliment, and I thank you. My wife thinks you are saying that I am going senile.
