Default Replace tires

We need to start thinking about new tires.
Is there anything we need to know when we take it to like Firestone,Goodyear or anyplace like that ? Like how they should lift the TM for example ?
I don't want to have problems like a bent frame or something after the fact.

Thanks

a few things i have learned here,
lift by frame, never a jack under your axle.
metal valve steams, ck the date code on tires they are selling you,
also look at the thread from wmtire, alot of good reading there and from others on tires , lots of info to help.

Spin-balance the wheels with the new tires mounted. Lots of places will say "We don't balance trailer tires." Your response is simple. "But you balance mine."

When you have your tires installed, have steel valve stems installed as well. A few bucks more but you don't have to worry about developing leaks.

No Goodyear Marathons. I have Carlisle's but they have less than stellar reps. Check out the posts on the board and it might give ya an idea as to what brands to stay away from.
I think I would look for a load range D tire in any case.
