Tires for 3326 k
Has anyone recently replaced their tires on a 3326K? I have a 2006 Year model and will need to replace this summer. I have 14 inch tires on them. Thanks

I have a 3124KB and running Carlisle ST Trailer Tires. Mine are the 15 inch wheels and the tires are also (E) rated for maximum load. Very happy with the performance so far. Mounted them last Nov and have several thousand miles on them since. In my part of the country, we use Discount Tire Dealers. Not sure if the 3326k can accommodate the 15 in wheels for the tandem axle though.

I seem to recall that the 3326 was a two-axle 4-tire trailer equipped with 14-inch Goodyear Marathons. Assuming that you have size 215/75R14 (and not 205's), each of those those tires is rated to carry 1870 pounds, so on a 4-tire trailer, the tires are rated for a total of 7480 pounds. This is a very generous total, so I don't think you need to do anything other than replace the tires with the same Goodyear Marathons.
As a quick note, it appears that 14-inch Marathons came in both a 205/75R14 and a 215/75R14 size. There is a small difference in load-carrying capacity, but these tires apparently fit on wheels with a different size. So when you replace your tires, you should duplicate the size you already have.
You may have been reading about TM owners upgrading from 14-inch tires to 15-inch tires. All TMs other than the 3326 are single axle trailers, so the two tires together were rated 3740 pounds. This is uncomfortably close to the actual loaded weight of the trailer, so there were more tire failures than there should have been. Retrofitting these tires with 15-inch version was an easy way to increase the load carrying rating. Since you have four tires, you need not do so.
Hope this helps.

Hi newtome3326k,
I replaced mine when I purchased it in 2007 with "Cooper 195R14C LT Load Range D tires" and have enjoyed the safe LT tires. I know they are harder side walls but they don't blow out and a lot of other rigs I researched used these with no problem either. If I had an single axle the upgrade to 15in would be a must.
Good luck

Nice lead but it looks like they don't make it in 14 anymore? Anyone else confirm? It looks like in the last 5 years, 14 inch LT or otherwise higher capacity tires have been really marginalized. The Kumho still seems like a viable option but I will probably go to 15 on my next change personally.

I added a lift kit to my 3326 with the intention of going to 15 inch tires. The local RV shop recommended against it. They said there was not enough clearance between the tires. The question now becomes: What is enough clearance?
From the Goodyear site:
ST215/75R14 diameter = 26.6",
ST225/75R15 diameter = 28.3",
1.7" difference.
I measured the space between the 14" tires on my 3326 = 2.8".
With 15 inch tires this space would be = 1.1".
Is this enough? What happens if one tire throws a tread?

Interesting . . . never considered that.

maybe I'm seeing your math different... but that would be 1.7 difference per tire. if your measuring the space between the tandem axles tires at 2.8. but both tires would be a larger diameter not just the one. 1.7 x 2 = 3.4 for the total diameter difference of 14in tires vs 15in tires. No?
