Just got thinking-it may begin sooner than I thought. When we go pick it up, will my 2" hitch ball be the right size? Or do I need to do some more shopping?

I knew I'd have a stupid question sometime soon LOL

Congratulations!! I know you will be happy you are in the TM family.

I own a Ford F150 and I think you and I have the same factory hitch. If so it is rated for a 500 pound tongue weight, which is less than most TMs have. I strongly suggest a Weight Distribution Hitch for not only safety but it also balances the weight on all axles and makes for a nicer ride as well. Not to panic, I drove from Toledo to central Florida and back without and did fine, it is just that my 3023 is 750 lb tongue on a 500 rated hitch (that goes to 3 times that rating with a WDH).

HAVE FUN!!

Our new baby is home! We're officially TM owners. Will probably do a little packing tonight. Tomorrow hopefully get some stuff out of our popup (that we'll be listing for sale)

And Wednesday we should be out camping

again gratz on getting the tm.
kinda a funny hail storm story, if there is such a thing
last yr after a bad hail storm here i was sitting at a red light, and a new white vw pulled up beside me, it was beat to death, so they had put a thin red strip from front to rear, over the middle on it and a big top flight sticker on it yes it looked just like a large golf ball, i still laugh about that one,

Congratulations on your "new" TM! Did you check the age of the tires? If one is that bad, maybe they are older? If they're over 3 years old, and if you're going to bother with replacing one, it might be just as easy to replace two of them. You don't want to start your vacation off with a blowout (or end it with one).

My TM (I'm the original owner) got hailed on a few years ago. I see it as "battle scars." You have to wonder if a prestine camper ever gets used. (Just kidding - some people on this forum really love their TMs and make me jealous with the great care and talent they have in keeping a well used TM looking like it was sitting on the showroom floor)

It's a camper for me to enjoy - a few dings in the aluminum don't change that for me! So enjoy your camper!

Thank you - Thank you - Thank you EVERYONE
Another couple hours and we're off on our maiden voyage. New tires, I have the water tank sanatizing (I don't know how it was maintained so I figured it would be best to assume it wasn't), a couple extra jugs for drinking, toilet all chemicaled up and primed, got the refrig cooled off yesterday-and somewhat stocked.

In unfolding & folding, it does seem much more difficult to 'lift' than it should, so I may be back in a few days (actually almost 2 weeks) asking how to adjust those tension bars/lifters. I did remove the upright closet. To me, it just seems to take quite of bit of the storage space that we can pack lightwt but bulky items. I can always put it back if we change our mind

Going out for a haircut and then I'm off and running

Again-I send my appreciation to everyone who has been so helpful!
