Default Help with wheel and tire upgrade.

Hello,
I am a new sponsor to this site and this is my first post. I apologize if I ask a lot of the same questions but searching through all the threads I still have questions.

I have a 2003 2619 with a 3 inch lift I had put on at the dealership when I bought it used last year. It currently has what I believe are the stock steel 14" wheels and stock size tires. I am looking to upgrade to I believe a 15 inch wheel and 'beefier' tire.

90% of our camping is off road. With long stretches on dirt roads with lots of dips, holes, and nasty wash board. I am hoping to help alleviate some of the wear on the trailer with a larger sized setup. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't even know what size the bolt pattern is on the trailmanor so I will gladly take accept as much info as you are all willing to give.

Thanks!

Hi Ricky, I put 15" tires on our 2619 a couple years ago, when towing on the hwy, I set the pressure at 60psi, when we hit the rough gravel roads though, I would drop it to 50psi, which helped a lot with the bumps and bruises at the slow speeds. Obviously you need a compressor that can inflate them back to 60 when needed.

The main advantage of going to 15" tires is that the load rating is increased, which means there is less of a chance for a blow out that the original Marathons were prone to. I installed Maxxis tires and had probably 8000 miles on them with no issues. Either 14 or 15 inch should be fine on bumpy roads when inflated correctly.

I just took one of my 14" tires to Discount Tire and they helped me get what I needed as far as rims, metal stems and tires. Be sure the rims are rated for the higher weight of a camper and have metal stems. I think they were rated at 2400 lbs if my failing memory is correct.
