Default brake controler.

wasn't sure where to post this... just had a brake controler installed on my mini van through U-haul and they were not very good in explaining exactly how to dial it in. the unit can control the speed at which the brakes recieve signals and the brake power they recieve them at. the unit also has a manual slide knob where you can enguge the electric brakes manually.

so how do I know when I have dialed the brakes in just right? I read the directions fully. they state that it should be set below the point where the tires start skiding and above any lag. well at the highest setting i don't get any skiding at all. are the breaks faulty or need service?

thanks

Please start by reading the brake controller tutorial in the Technical Library (aka TrailManor Info You Won't Find Anywhere Else). You need to know what kinds of controllers exist, why you should buy one kind and avoid the others - and then determine which kind you have. Then use the Search button, probably on the term "controller" or "controller +skid", to uncover recent discussions of this very same topic.
