Default More TV Tire Talk

I'll be needing tires for my '06 4Runner soon and would like your opinion.

The 4Runners OEM tires are P265/65R17's. I've read other blogs saying that I should use light truck tires if I tow a TT. But, seems truck tires are supposed to carry higher pressure and I sure don't want a harsher ride.

Also, I'm thinking about a smaller circumference tire to increase the engine rpm so the 4Runner won't downshift at every little incline when I'm towing my TM.

Any thoughts about the pros and cons of using truck tires and downsizing?

Gary
