Portable Air Compressor

Having been convinced by posts on this forum that my TM could self destruct if I insist on pulling it over less-than-improved dirt or gravel roads, I am considering one post's advice that I should "air-down" my TM's tires when on such roads. I would like to buy a decent portable 12 Volt air compressor to re-inflate tires. There are many for sale, from $19.95 to hundreds of dollars. I suspect that the cheaper ones are not worth the money. Do any of you recommend a particular model of compressor?
