Default Towing w/ 2004 Ford Explorer V6?

Can anyone share their experience towing a TM with this TV? I'm looking at the 3023 but have concerns about how big a TM I can get with the Explorer. My wheelbase is 111" and max tow is 5780 lbs. The TM weight seems OK but wheelbase may be too short based on conventional standards.

Camping mostly in So. CA, mostly flat area with occasional trips to the local mountains (6-8,000 ft. elevation).

Wheelbase should not be a problem, based on my experience with my 2002 Explorer V-8 3.73LS/Class III/4x4. You may be a bit disappointed with the power and torque if you venture into the really high mountains - but not badly. Go. Have fun.
